The North-Eastern Highlights – go around  Mt. Agung, visit the water palaces and royal palace in Amlapura, have lunch in Candidasa bay, and explore Tenganan (Bali Aga) Village

Itinerary

This full day trip starts at 08.00 AM and takes you for the first hour all along the North-Eastern  Coast, between the Bali Sea and nearby Mt. Agung, Bali’s sacred highest volcano. Stops are made along the road where there are magnificent views of Mt. Agung.

At the junction to Amed, we turn inland and proceed  to the old royal capital of Amlapura, where we arrive around 9.30 AM. Visit the royal palace and residence (Maskerdam) with its Dutch furniture and historical photos. This was the last kingdom in Bali, before the Dutch took over reign.

From there we continue to Ujung, the oldest water palace by the ocean. …

From there we proceed to Tenganan, the most famous Bali Aga Village. Before the 1970s it was known to be one of the most secluded societies of the archipelago. Rapid changes have occurred in the village since the 70's, such as the development of local communications by the central government and the opening up to tourism. Tenganan has retained its unique Bali Agaculture that still holds to the original traditions, ceremonies and rules of ancient Bali, and has a unique village layout and architecture.

We then proceed to Candidasa bay for lunch

We then go back north and our last stop is Tittra Gangga, the most beautiful water palace in Bali, where we have time to explore the temple complex, relax and a swim for about one hour .

By the end of the afternoon, we return to our accommodation while observing a fabulous sunset. This is our most popular Eastern Bali trip
